I think a rewording is in order. He SAYS he would pardon them. He SAYS he would strength border security. He also SAYS some other things which you may or may not like. Obama and Trump also said some things, and did other things. Wether because their believe changed, or it was simply not legally or majority possible.
One example, student loan forgiveness, wether for the right or wrong reasons, Dems said they can do it and will do it but the court said No Sir.
Great point. I'm let down by nearly every elected leader because of the massive gulf between what they promise and what they deliver. I agree with your sentiment that RFK would engage in similar behavior. In particular, my eyebrow raises when he says he'd "tell the truth about everything." I want to believe this so badly but even if he literally does this, it will not go all the way to healing my distrust in politicians and their grandiose promises.
Generally speaking i believe he has his heart at the right place for sure.
However, i very distinctily remember Obamas initial speech after he was elected. It was an epic speech. But if you look the Obama era, it definitely (in my opinion) did fall short the expecations, big time in fact.
I think i have one phrase which sums this up.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Also in my opinion the President could never EVER tell the the whole truth. Why ? The deep state would never allow it. They would find ways to either discredit you, or make sure your voice cant be hard.
My expectation is that the Democratic machine will attempt to take him down similar to what they did with Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard. I feel the special interests in politics support Biden because he may be unable to have any original thoughts or maybe just any coherent thoughts. At this time there is no stopping the power of the money in politics.
Although I operate outside the mainstream media, I was struck by the scant discussion about his actual positions. It seems the people I know are exposed primarily to sound bites, which portray him negatively. This biased media representation is detrimental to our Republic. However, this Substack offers exactly the kind of balanced perspective that I always hoped the internet could provide.
Great topic I'm curious about. I specifically like how you graded the candidate on topics we're all interested in and some specific to your areas of specialty.
Two other issues I forgot to cover, both receive an A+ from me.
* He would pardon Assange and Snowden. A+
* He would strengthen border security and open legal immigration up widely. A+

Pretty big difference.

Well, thats my take at least. Bad times.
Sometimes saying less is probably better... https://nypost.com/2023/07/15/rfk-jr-says-covid-was-ethnically-targeted-to-spare-jews/. I think the hype train is making this sound way worse than it is... But still, he needs much better discipline, IMHO.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Agree on the need for verbal discipline.

Sadly, I think you might be right.
Loved it
Thank you. I really appreciate your taking the time to outline his stance on crucial issues . As always, well thought out and presented!
Thanks for the write up, I enjoyed it.

RFK is a candidate I'll follow more closely.
